Provides personal patient care services in conjunction with established nursing policy and procedure under the direct supervision of the nurse in charge.  Maintains accurate and objective written and oral communications through the use of the problem oriented record system.  Plans and completes patient care assignments, assisting patients with all activities of daily living.  Participates in assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating the individual patient plan of care as a part of the interdisciplinary team.  Maintains and insures the personal rights of all patients through knowledge of and advocacy of the Patient's Bill of Rights.  Establishes safe and accurate working habits in the delivery of individual patient care.  Participates in ongoing education to extend knowledge and improve skills.  Participates in the orientation of new staff members.  Assists in the development of Health Service programs.  Actively participates in monitoring the medical alert and fire alarm systems.  Works in a team relationship with all staff within the Health Services Department and with the staff of all other departments.  Respects the personal possessions and the confidentiality of all information concerning the residents, fellow employees and the Community.  Sensitive to the needs of an aging population.  Performs other duties as assigned.

                                                                                                                                 

   Qualifications:

1.  A high school diploma or equivalent.
2.  Certification or eligibility for certification.
3.  Read, write, follow oral instructions.
4.  Previous related experience preferred.
5.  Able to meet the physical demands of the position, i.e., bending, lifting a minimum of 20 pounds, transferring of patients.

Utility Coordinator

Full Time, 80 hours bi-weekly

Every Other Weekend

                                                                                                                                 

 

Under the supervision of the Dining Services Manager, is responsible for the effective day-to-day operation of the Utility department and the supervision of the Utility staff to insure quality standards of cleanliness in all Dining Services Areas.

 

In conjunction with the Dining Services Manager, actively participates in the hiring, orientation, training, scheduling, disciplining and evaluating of all area personnel.  Insures all daily work area goals are met and works on achieving department goals in conjunction with Dining Services management team. Works in conjunction with Dining Services staff to maintain proper sanitation of kitchen equipment and other area equipment.  Responsible for opening and/or closing the kitchen/ Dining Services area.  Oversees and checks staff assignments to ensure the cleanliness, sanitation, and safety standards of the dining services areas.  Maintains a flexible schedule to cover opening and/or closing during special functions, vacation and holiday periods.  Responsible for closing kitchen floor cleaning duties and detail cleaning according to set standards and guidelines. Maintains a daily log of food service equipment temperatures and opening and closing assignments.  Maintains ongoing effective communication with the Dining Services manager to insure consistency in supervision of the Utility area. Maintains the safety and sanitation of the loading dock and trash room area.  Assists in receiving and inventories in the absence of the Dining Services Receiver. Responsible for upkeep of equipment relevant to the sanitation of the Dining Services area.  Works in a team relationship with Facilities staff in ensuring the maintenance of relevant equipment through requisition.  Demonstrates scheduling flexibility with the ever changing needs of the Utility schedule. Works in a team relationship with staff of the Dining Services Department and with the staff of all other departments in Pennswood Village.  Demonstrates a positive leadership role model to utility staff and leads by example to insure the work environment is maintained in a safe and professional manner.  Promotes, plans and implements policies, objectives and goals of the department as part of the management team.  Respects the personal possessions and the confidentiality of all information concerning the residents, fellow employees and the community.  Sensitive to the needs of an aging population.  Maintains appropriate professional appearance.

                                                                                                                                 

  

Qualifications:

1.  A high school diploma or equivalent.
2.  Minimum three years experience in the Food Service industry with emphasis on sanitation..
3.  Safety and Sanitation certification.
4.  Demonstrates knowledge of county, state and federal regulations pertaining to Food Service sanitation.
5.  Demonstrates working knowledge of food service equipment and cleaning agents.
6.  Continuing education in the Food Service field.
7.  Effective oral and written communication skills with residents, staff and visitors.
8.   Able to meet the physical demands of the position, i.e., standing, stooping, bending and lifting 40 lbs.8
9. Demonstrates professional, effective communication skills and interaction with all coworkers, residents and guests.
