Part Time, 28 hours bi-weekly, 5 p.m. - 9 p.m.

All CNA positions must work every other weekend

                                                                                                                                   

Provides personal patient care services in conjunction with established nursing policy and procedure under the direct supervision of the nurse in charge.  Maintains accurate and objective written and oral communications through the use of the problem oriented record system.  Plans and completes patient care assignments, assisting patients with all activities of daily living.  Participates in assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating the individual patient plan of care as a part of the interdisciplinary team.  Maintains and insures the personal rights of all patients through knowledge of and advocacy of the Patient's Bill of Rights.  Establishes safe and accurate working habits in the delivery of individual patient care.  Participates in ongoing education to extend knowledge and improve skills.  Participates in the orientation of new staff members.  Assists in the development of Health Service programs.  Actively participates in monitoring the medical alert and fire alarm systems.  Works in a team relationship with all staff within the Health Services Department and with the staff of all other departments.  Respects the personal possessions and the confidentiality of all information concerning the residents, fellow employees and the Community.  Sensitive to the needs of an aging population.  Performs other duties as assigned.

                                                                                                                                 

   Qualifications:

1.  A high school diploma or equivalent.
2.  Certification or eligibility for certification.
3.  Read, write, follow oral instructions.
4.  Previous related experience preferred.
5.  Able to meet the physical demands of the position, i.e., bending, lifting a minimum of 20 pounds, transferring of patients.

First Responder / Buildings Support

Part Time, 16 hours per week, Monday and Tuesday 3:00 p.m. - 11:30 p.m.

***3 years experience in building operations, maintenance, and/or housekeeping required***

                                                                                                                                   

The First Responder/Buildings Support person functions as a First Responder in all emergency situations.  Implements safety and security programs.  Performs maintenance assignments.  Participates in the safety and security programs of Pennswood Village.  Leads residents/staff/visitors to a safe location in any fire/medical or emergency situation according to Pennswood evacuation and emergency procedures.  Communicates with the Woolman House Command Center during any emergency event to ensure coordinated evacuation activities.  Knowledgeable of all Pennswood Village safety programs and emergency response procedures.  Problem solves during emergency situations.  Contacts appropriate staff during an emergency.  Maintains knowledge of Pennswood mechanical, fire and medical equipment.  Maintains knowledge of Facilities related computer systems.  Participates in accident/security investigations under the supervision of the Safety Manager.  Evaluates any emergency equipment failure and contacts appropriate Facilities staff for further direction.  Performs building site work as assigned.  Participates in snow removal or other weather related emergencies.  Works in a team relationship with all staff in the Facilities Division and with the staff of all other departments.  Respects the personal possessions and confidentiality of all information concerning the residents, fellow employees and the community.  Sensitive to the needs of an aging population.  Performs other duties as assigned.

 

                                                                                                                                      

Qualifications:

1.  High school graduate or equivalent.
2
.  Valid driver's license.
3.  Minimum 3 years experience in building operations, maintenance and/or housekeeping required.  A background in safety and/or emergency preparedness preferred.
4.  Be able and willing to work shift work, weekends, holidays and 24 hour emergency service.
5.  Effective communication skills and ability to work with residents, staff, visitors and contractors. .
6.  General Knowledge of Microsoft Windows based computer system.  Advanced knowledge of Facilities department software, as required. 

7.  Knowledge of Facilities building equipment and/or advanced cleaning techniques and processes.
8.  Ability to meet physical demands of the position, i.e., bend, stand, stoop, climb, and lift 25-60 pounds.  Able to walk long distances.
9Willing to work in heat, cold and inclement weather.

Utility Assistant

Full Time, 80 hours bi-weekly

Every Other Weekend

                                                                                                                                   

Under limited supervision, assists in maintaining the food services area in clean and sanitary conditions at all times.  Assists the Utility Coordinator and Dining Services Supervisor in training part-time utility staff.  Relieves Coordinator in their absence.  Operates the dish machine, washes pots, mops floors, removes trash, and assists in receiving/storage of goods.  Follows established procedures as directed to ensure sanitary maintenance of food services areas and items used for eating purposes. Assist in training and orientation of new Utility personnel.  Operation and cleaning of dish machine area.  Cleaning and sanitizing of dishware, pots/pans and equipment as directed.  Removal of trash from all food service areas.  Conveying of dishware and food supplies from main kitchen to The Cafe and health care units.  Works without supervision; maintains professional manner.  Assist in storage of received goods.  Cleaning of all food service areas in accordance with safety and sanitary procedures.  Work in a team relationship with all staff within the Dining Services Department and with staff of all other departments.  Works with Utility staff to provide a positive role model and maintains a professional and safe work environment.  Respect the personal possessions and the confidentiality of all information concerning the residents, fellow employees and the Community.  Sensitive to the needs of an aging population  Performs other duties as assigned.

                                                                                                                                 

   Qualifications:

1.  A high school diploma or equivalent; or in process.
2.  Minimum one year experience in operating dish machine or other food service equipment.
3.  Ability to maintain flexible schedule, weekend and holiday coverage.
4.  Ability to follow instructions and work independently.
5.  Basic knowledge of safety and sanitary standards.
6.  Ability to perform repetitive tasks.
7.  Demonstrates professional, effective communication skills and interaction with all coworkers, residents and guests.
8.  Able to meet the physical demands of the position, i.e., standing, stooping, bending, lifting a minimum of 40 pounds.

Hot Cook

Full Time, 80 hours bi-weekly

10:30 a.m. - 7:00 p.m.

Every Other Weekend

                                                                                                                                   

Responsible for production of the hot portion of all meals and special functions, including the accompaniment and garnishes.  Prepares the hot food on the cycle menu and special functions following production sheets and recipes.  Does advanced prep as directed.  Completes production records as needed.  Properly handles, stores and dates food items.  Set-up and serve food in an eye-appealing manner, cleans all work areas and food service equipment, follows safety and sanitation procedures, maintains a knowledge of nutritious food production and modified diet preparation, coordinates hot food preparation with other food preparation, works in a team relationship with all staff within the Food Service Department and with the staff of all other departments.  Respects the personal possessions and the confidentiality of all information concerning the residents, fellow employees and the Community, sensitive to the needs of an aging population, works in a team relationship with all staff to provide quality services to our residents, other duties as assigned. 

                                                                                                                                 

   Qualifications:

1.  A high school diploma or equivalent;
2.  Minimum 3 years experience in quantity cooking in the food service industry.
3.  Culinary education preferred.
4.  Knowledge of safety and sanitation standards and procedures.
5.  Ability to operate food preparation equipment.
6.  Effective communication, organizational and planning skills.
7.  Demonstrates professional, effective communication skills and interaction with all coworkers, residents and guests.
8.  Able to meet the physical demands of the position, i.e., standing, stooping, bending, and lifting.
